Back in the day before cell phones were prevalent, I used to use this thing called a “pay phone” to call my mom during my lunch breaks. I’d call her on campus to let her know if I had to stay at school later for my extracurricular activities. Pay phones take coins but I was smart and used what they called a “phone card” which had pre-paid minutes. It was kind of neat.

I just realized I bought a dress with an all-over heart print that I’m contemplating wearing today (although it’s cold). Some heart-shaped buttons from one of my favorite dresses, a heart necklace that Emily got me for my birthday many years ago, and an origami heart Valentine that one of my students made me. Too adorable!

Day 13 of February Photo a Day Challenge: Blue.
Since my closet is tiny, a lot of my clothes are separated. I have a little place for my ankle boots (although not all seen here), another shoe rack for my other shoes, a closet for my jackets (but not winter coats) and dresses, and a standing wardrobe thing for my sweaters, cardigans, tops, jeans, skirts, and pajamas. I know you were dying to see my mess.

I didn’t have to wake up early today to tutor (although I will have to tomorrow) so I was able to visit my friend in Brooklyn who had a few kittens hanging out (until they get adopted). So my afternoon was spent playing with kittens and then eating pie (salted caramel apple) at Four & Twenty Blackbirds. So things that make me happy: sleeping in, kitten party, pie.
